    Description

1937 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. For the second consecutive season the World Series was confined to one square mile of New York City real estate, and for the second consecutive season it was the mighty Yankees that slew the Giants across the river. Presented is an OAL (Harridge) ball commemorating the sixth World Championship Yankees team, fittingly promoting the legendary Lou Gehrig (8/10) on its sweet spot. Further Hall of Fame talent is supplied through Ruffing (7/10), Combs (4/10), Lazzeri (7/10) and clubhouse versions of Gomez, McCarthy and DiMaggio. The balance of signatures, excepting Monte Pearson, is the genuine article, and averages 6/10. The horsehide exhibits some inconsequential spots of foxing but is otherwise lightly and evenly toned. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
