1935 Satchel Paige Single Signed Baseball. Major League integration, and Paige's rookie season within, were each well over a decade away when the greatest pitcher in Negro League history applied his signature to the presented sphere. He signs the side panel as a representative of the "Bismarck Ball Club," an integrated semi-pro team in North Dakota that likewise featured Negro League great Ted "Double Duty" Radcliffe. Paige dates his inscription "Aug. 22, 1935," and appears to have begun a different inscription with the incorrect date on an adjacent panel--the writing is clearly Paige's. The non-official ball is toned an amber shade, and Paige's. His black fountain pen ink averages 6/10. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
