Description

1934 Tour of Japan Team Signed Baseball. It was a story made for Hollywood, with the most famous man in America, his faithful Yankee sidekick, a few other baseball legends, and a secret agent moonlighting as a Big League catcher. No serious baseball collection could possibly live without an artifact from the amazing 1934 Tour of Japan, and here we offer a captivating piece from the far side of the vast Pacific. The Babe fittingly occupies the sweet spot of this "Mizuno Official University League" baseball, the model used in competition during the historic excursion. He's joined by thirteen teammates, notably Gehrig, Gehringer, Averill, Miller, O'Doul, McNair and more. Surface wear has compromised signature boldness significantly, with the twin Yankee legends among the boldest at 1/10 to 2/10. Many of the others are discernible only with the assistance of a spectrometer. Four of the lesser figures are readily legible. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
