    Description

1934 American League All-Star Team Signed Baseball. The second installment of the Midsummer Classic found a home at the Polo Grounds, where Carl Hubbell made history in front of his hometown fans by orchestrating the remarkable and improbable feat of retiring Ruth, Gehrig, Foxx, Simmons and Cronin successively on strikes. All five of the Hall of Fame southpaw's victims appear upon this OAL (Harridge) ball signed that day, joined by eleven other Depression-era superstars including Ruffing, Manush, Gehringer, Gomez, Ferrell and Cochrane. All listed names are readily legible, with quality ranging from 2/10 to 7/10. We're pleased to report that Ruth, Gehrig and Foxx rate near the top of that scale and cause no eye strain upon viewing. Imagine all of these legends passing this ball around in the dugout of the defunct baseball palace. A terrific memento of an important day in baseball history. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
