Description

1933 Old Timer's Game Signed Baseball with Young, Foxx, Baker. Extraordinary ONL (Frick) ball derives from a ceremonial event just prior to the first ever playing of the Major League All-Star Game, played in conjunction with the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago. This is the first such signed baseball we've encountered from this momentous occasion in baseball history, and the cast of characters signing makes us wish all the more for a time machine. Appearing in the boldest of black fountain pen ink we encounter legendary pitcher Cy Young and slugger Frank "Home Run" Baker together on a single panel. Nearby we encounter an equally strong Jimmie Foxx, who would compete in the first Midsummer Classic as a member of the American League side. Other notables include Lefty Grove (very light), Rube Walberg, Lena Blackburne, Whitey Witt, Howard Ehmke, Cy Williams, Hans Lobert and more. All but a few autographs rate 8/10 or better, providing looks to go with the personality. An intriguing piece from a major turning point in Major League Baseball. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

This is a most satisfied customer's testimonial of a true gentleman in today's era. It is rare that one encounters through the course of life a person which one has read in childhood' s classics or seen in movies of old.
