Description

1932 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. The final World Championship season for the mighty Babe, who takes sweet spot honors here in secretarial format. Don't despair however--the autographs of his fellow Hall of Famers are the genuine article: Gehrig (8/10), Combs (7/10), Ruffing (6/10), Dickey (4/10), Sewell (2/10), Lazzeri (7/10), and even the rare-on-baseballs Joe McCarthy (7/10). Twenty-two autographs appear in total on the moderately toned OAL (Harridge) ball, with the balance of autographs equally spaced across the full boldness range. Above Ruth's signature is a faint "9/8/32" handwritten date in an unknown hand. The ball derives from the family of a close friend of Lefty Gomez, the original recipient mentioned often in the new book "Lefty: An American Odyssey," by the Hall of Famer's daughter. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
