1932 New York Giants Team Signed Baseball with Ott, McGraw. Essentially the same ballclub that would defeat the Washington Senators the following season to claim the World Series title, one notable departure from that club two months into the 1932 season makes this offering arguably even more desirable than a Championship sphere. After thirty-one years at the helm of the New York Giants, the great John McGraw would turn over control to Bill Terry, ending one of the longest and most successful managerial tenures in the game's history. Clearly this "Pacific Coast League" sphere predates McGraw's June 3, 1932 resignation, as he appears as one of the thirty-three ultra-high grade autographs that coat the ball's surface. Also appearing in 9+/10 blue ink are Ott (signing with his full "Melvin" name), Hubbell, Lindstrom, Terry, Bancroft, Travis Jackson, Fitzsimmons, Luque, Moore, Marshall, Critz and Hogan. A patch of foxing upon one panel does nothing to undermine the strength of the autographs with which it shares space, and a few fingerprints dabbed the wet ink on occasion, likewise to no significant effect. A coating of shellac has remained perfectly clear and has served its intended purpose marvelously. Almost assuredly the highest quality sphere in the hobby to boast the full contingent of Depression-era Hall of Fame Giants, this is one for the collector who demands nothing but the best.
