1932 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball Fouled Off by Ruth. A charming notarized letter of provenance from the family of this sphere's original owner reads, in part:

"The ball has been a legend in our family for as long as I can remember. Specifically, after Spring Training and on their way North to begin the 1932 baseball season, the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Yankees both stopped off in Memphis Tennessee to play an exhibition game against each other at Russword Park. It was the first professional game of its kind that my Father ever attended and it became even more memorable to him when, during the game, Babe Ruth hit a foul ball into the stands that my Father caught. After the game, my Dad went down to the field and asked both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig to please autograph his baseball which they kindly did. This is that very baseball."

The "Harwood Official League Ball" perfectly mimics an OAL model with its red and blue stitching, with the Babe occupying his standard sweet spot position in 7/10 black fountain pen ink. Gehrig is to the east, a point bolder. An unknown hand has penned a "1932" notation. A particularly appealing example of the hobby's most popular duo-signed ball. Letter of provenance from family. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
