1931 Tour of Japan Team Signed Baseball. Considerably more scarce than its younger brother of 1934 vintage, the presented model is among the finest you'll encounter from this first Depression-era trip across the Pacific. Appearing upon an "Official Six University League of Tokyo" baseball are seventeen bold black fountain pen ink signatures from the likes of Gehrig, Simmons, Maranville, Cochrane, Grove, Frisch, Kelly, Ruel, O'Doul and more. Only a single (unlisted) autograph dips below 8/10 on our grading scale, and that due to an abrasion to the shellacked surface of the ball. Worth the price of admission for the cast of characters alone, this tough orb has the historic importance to make it a double threat. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.Auction Info
