    Description

1931 Tour of Japan Team Signed Baseball. Though not as famous as its 1934 successor, this earlier excursion unquestionably planted a seed that continued to bloom upon the American return three years later. Presented is perhaps the finest example we've encountered of this far rarer team sphere, the seventeen signatures sealed at an average of 8/10 beneath an effective vintage coating of shellac. Among those names are Gehrig, Cochrane, Frisch, Kelly, Maranville, Simmons, Grove and the catcher/spy Moe Berg. An unknown hand has neatly penned text that reads, "United States All-Stars Touring Japan 1931, Presented to C.G. Davidson." Ball is ONL (Heydler) model. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
