The President endures a heckling at Game Three

1931 St. Louis Cardinals Team Signed Baseball with President Hoover. His status as a strong proponent of Prohibition, which Hoover characterized as "a noble experiment," earned the President a hearty chorus of boos when he was introduced at the third game of the 1931 World Series, almost certainly the derivation of this team sphere autographed by the eventual victors with the Commander in Chief on the sweet spot. Hoover deftly dismissed the reception, telling reporters, "You know, there were a number of thirsty people present with no patience for constitutional process."

Our thirty-first President is the strongest signature on this ONL (Heydler) sphere, rating 8/10 amidst an average 4/10 of the twenty-two World Champs that share space with him. Notables include a bold Frank Frisch, Bottomley, Haines, Hafey, Collins, Gonzales, Orsatti and a light but legible Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
