    1931 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. Though the Yanks would yet again surrender the American League flag to the Philadelphia Athletics in 1931, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig continued their dominance of Junior Circuit pitching with forty-six homers each and a combined 347 runs batted in. Each of these pinstriped legends is counted among the twenty signatures applied to this OAL (Barnard) ball, along with fellow Hall of Famers Dickey, Sewell, Ruffing, Lazzeri, Gomez, Pennock and Combs. All listed signatures register at a strength of 4/10 or better thanks in part to a light coating of shellac. Only a couple minor figures dip below this mark, with most others the same or a point better. A solid mid-grade team ball from that magical era in the Bronx when true baseball gods walked the earth.
