1931 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. In Joe McCarthy's first season at the helm of the mighty Bronx Bombers, Marse Joe steered his team to a what most franchises would consider a banner season. Yet despite winning ninety-four games and fielding a roster with a jaw-dropping ten future Hall of Famers, the Yanks finished a distant 13.5 games behind Connie Mack's Men in Philly.

OAL (Barnard) baseball is signed by eighteen, including all ten of the aforementioned Cooperstown residents, namely, Babe Ruth (sweet spot), Lou Gehrig, Bill Dickey, Tony Lazzeri, Earle Combs, Joe Sewell, Herb Pennock, Red Ruffing, Lefty Gomez, and Joe McCarthy (secretarial). Others in attendance include George Pipgras, Lyn Lary, Myril Hoag, Ben Chapman, Hank Johnson, Jimmie Reece, Roy Sherid, and Ed Wells.

The ball, which was coated with a nice coat of shellac to preserve the autographs, has aged to a brownish tone, with the league and Ernest Barnard stamps still very visible. Meanwhile, the black steel-tip fountain pen signatures are very black and bold, grading at an overall 8/10 in strength, with Babe and Lou both registering at a solid 7.5/10. While there are some scattered white areas where the shellac has chipped away, they cause minimal interference because of the strength and clarity of the autographs. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
