Description

1931 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. Some of our favorite Babe Ruth stories of all involve his legendary kindness to hospitalized kids, and the story of his three World Series home runs in a single 1928 game for a boy named Johnny Sylvester ranks not far below the Called Shot in Bambino lore. The bold black fountain pen ink inscription on this "Taylor Official League" ball suggests it was signed on another generous visit to a sick child. Filling the side panel with his distinctive script, he writes, "To Jerrold Golding, best wishes for a speedy recovery, From Babe Ruth." On the panel just below, he dates the ball "Jan 30-1931." A few small scattered abrasions to the sphere are all that blocks a 10/10 rating for the writing, as the ink remains pitch black otherwise. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.

    Guide Value or Estimate: $6,000 - $8,000.
