    Description

1930's Mel Ott Signed Baseball. For twenty-two seasons he made the short right field porch of the Polo Grounds his personal landing pad, earning the third key to the 500 Home Run Clubhouse in the process. Here we find the Hall of Fame slugger on the side panel of an OAL (Harridge) ball (stamping is very faded), suggesting strongly that the signature may date to the Giants' two late 1930's World Series meetings with the Yankees. He shares a side panel with radio announcer Van Patrick, the only factor that denies five-figure single signed status. A great opportunity for the collector unwilling to part with the sizeable sum of money a solo Ott would require. Autographs are 8/10. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
