    Description

1930's Lou Gehrig Signed, Handwritten Questionnaire to a Fan. Lou Gehrig tended to stay in the background while others gravitated to the spotlight. It wasn't that the Iron Horse didn't want the adulation of his fans, but he would rather ply his trade quietly. This interesting questionnaire (6.75x10.75/20.75x16" frame) was sent to Gehrig with some probing questions. Gehrig executed a perfect 10/10 pencil signature on the provided line to sign his name. But that isn't the end. True to form, Gehrig doesn't stir the pot in the least. The inquisitive information seeker asks about Gehrig's favorite park, his hobbies and even what his reaction is to a bad call. But our favorite question is if club hatred should be worked up and would it be wise if players refrained from speaking before games. Gehrig takes the high road and leaves this simple answer. "Dear Sir, Many thanks for your kind thoughts + remarks. It is hard to answer your questions. I shall be thinking of you. Cordially L.G." The "Cordially L.G." is partially cut off at the lowermost edge. Water damage is visible on the last line of writing but far away from the autograph. Tape reinforcement is captured in the upper right corner. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
