    Description

1930's Grover Cleveland Alexander Single Signed Baseball. Whether collectors of singles from 300 Game Winners, or simply from Hall of Famers, most will be lacking an example from this troubled legend, whose alcoholism, epilepsy and post-traumatic stress from World War I horrors couldn't derail one of the most remarkable pitching careers in baseball history. Alexander's death in 1950, and the aforementioned afflictions that saw him absent from the public eye with only rare exceptions since the end of his barnstorming days in the mid-1930's, have left only a tiny supply of single signed baseballs available to the collecting market. Here we present an attractive two-tone stitched "Harwood" sphere, effectively providing the appearance of the official Big League balls of the Dead Ball Era that Alexander dominated. His sweet spot offering has lost some of its heft over the passing decades but still remains a fully legible 3/10 to 4/10. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
