1930's-40's Babe Ruth & Joe DiMaggio Dual Signed Baseball. While the tropical Hawaiian climate bears the blame for the imperfect condition of this intriguing sphere, it also must be given credit for the creation of this exceptionally rare dual signed ball, quite possibly the only such example on earth. The Babe's sweet spot signature was acquired by a Hawaiian family as the Tour of Japan made its stop in October of 1933, with the Official PCL ball remaining a single until Joltin' Joe made an island appearance as a member of the military during World War II. DiMaggio worked with seller's father in the same military office on Oahu during World War II. Before signing the ball, DiMaggio told seller's father it was the first time he had signed a ball with Babe Ruth's signature on it. The Babe's sweet spot signature projects at an approximate strength of 6/10 beneath a speckling of brown age spots, with his hand notated "10-28-33" just below. Only the "Joe" of DiMaggio's signature, unmistakable at a strength of 5/10, remains on the side panel, the rest lost to the ravages of time. It's definitely not the prettiest ball on the block, but looks aren't all that matters, particularly when it comes to once in a lifetime opportunities like this. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication. Guide Value or Estimate: $1,500 - $2,500.More information about Joe Dimaggio, also known as Joe Dimaggio, .
