1930 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball from Scrimmage vs. University of Texas Longhorns. On April 1, 1930 the New York Yankees visited Austin, Texas to play the University of Texas Longhorns baseball team at Clark Field. They played to an overflowing crowd in what The Daily Texas newspaper would label "...the biggest diamond classic of the season." This baseball presented here was signed on that day, almost ninety years ago.

The ONL (Heydler) sphere contains sixteen autographs, including Hall of Famers Babe Ruth (sweet spot), Lou Gehrig (on the panel directly above the Babe), Waite Hoyt, and Earle Combs. Others in attendance include manager Bob Shawkey, George Pipgras, Sammy Byrd, Ben Chapman, Cedric Durst, Art Jorgens, Hank Johnson, Dusty Cooke, Bill Karlon, Bill Henderson, Crip Polli (on Yankees Spring Training roster), and Bob Walsh (a minor league player who was a son of Hall of Famer pitcher Ed Walsh, Sr.).

The ball has aged to a nice cream color and the league stamping is still bold and beautiful. The black steel-tip fountain pen autographs grade an overall 7/10, with both Ruth and Gehrig appearing large and prominent.

The ball was obtained by Leroy C. Tucker, who was the assistant baseball manager of the Longhorns baseball team, during the time he was assisting the Yankee players. Letter of provenance from David Glen Tucker (Leroy C. Tucker's son). Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
