1930 Babe Ruth & John McGraw Signed World Series "Blotter" Baseball. It's the ultimate desk accessory for the vintage baseball fan in your life, conceived by the brilliant Christy Walsh, who pioneered the concept of the sports agent, building a stable of the greatest figures of the Golden Age and Depression-era game including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and a host of others. The Bambino is counted among the five residents of this ONL (Heydler) sphere, a gift to a VIP on hand to watch the Philadelphia Athletics battle the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1930 World Series, as a notation on the ball indicates. Ruth personalizes his signature to Dr. W.D. Sandow, a name that likewise appears in embossed golden lettering along with "Compliments of Christy Walsh" on the wooden blotter to which the ball is affixed. Ruth's signature rates 5/10. Also here are the managers of the warring sides Connie Mack (8/10) and Gabby Street (8/10), along with Giants skipper John McGraw (9/10) and, finally, Washington Senators stalwart Nick Altrock (9/10).
