1929 Washington Senators Team Signed Baseball. While the club could never recapture the pennant after back-to-back American League Championships in the mid-1920's, many of the team's top stars were still on staff at the time this OAL (Barnard) ball was signed. Most appealing is the eastern panel, which features 10/10 black fountain pen signatures of the famous Washington Senators battery Walter Johnson and Muddy Ruel. Noteworthy names on other panels include Rice, Cronin, Altrock, Hadley and Marberry. Signature quality is spectacular for a baseball of this vintage, with none of the sixteen signatures present dipping below 7/10 in strength. It must be noted that a couple of the autographs are not 1929 Senators, perhaps coaches or visiting players. The young former owner of the baseball has innocently penned his name over the OAL stamping, though this is noted only for the sake of accuracy. Clearly the tremendous quality of the talent, and the signatures they provide, override any minor concerns. Tattered original Reach box is included. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
