    Description

1928 New York Yankees Partial Team Signed Baseball with Huggins, G.C. Alexander. Though a sweet spot Babe almost always hogs the attention on any 1920's Yankees sphere, we'd rank him fourth in terms of appeal, a rather surprising showing for a baseball bearing just a dozen autographs. But look at the competition! For unknown reasons, St. Louis Cardinals pitching ace Grover Cleveland Alexander joins the pinstriped proceedings, the toughest of all inaugural Hall of Fame inductees alive for the 1939 opening. This would have led us to suspect 1928 World Series derivation, but the appearance of Urban Shocker derails that theory, as he would pass away a month before that Fall Classic. Tragically following a year later, and likewise outranking Ruth here, is Hall of Fame manager Miller Huggins. Other notables include Lazzeri, Hoyt, Bengough and Shawkey. Autograph quality averages 7/10. You won't find more rare names assembled on a single 1920's ball. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
