1928 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball. Independence Day in our nation's capital, and what could be more American than a visit from the greatest team our National Pastime has ever produced? On a day that the eventual World Champs split a doubleheader with the Senators at Griffith Stadium, the Bambino and the Iron Horse applied their autographs to a clean OAL (Barnard) ball for a patriotic fan. The Babe's lengthy side panel inscription rates a fine 8/10, and reads "To Joseph Rebentisch, Washington D.C., From 'Babe' Ruth." Gehrig simply signs his name in a lighter but still entirely legible 3/10 ink. The date "7/4/28" is penned below Gehrig's signature in an unknown hand. This special sphere from the heyday of Murderer's Row comes to us directly from the Rebentisch family, and is making its first appearance on the hobby stage. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
