1927 Philadelphia Athletics Partial Team Signed Baseball. The scripted "American League Ball" stamped text appeared only once in tandem with the facsimile signature of Junior Circuit president Ban Johnson, assuring the offered sphere was produced and signed during the fabled season of 1927. The Mack Men finished second to the Yankees' unstoppable Murderer's Row, and the names on this ancient horsehide explain the impressive finish. Ty Cobb, in his first season outside of Detroit, is one of nine signers, joined by legends like Grove, Collins, Cochrane and 1919 Black Sox manager Kid Gleason. Signatures average 6/10, all quite readily legible on the apparently game used orb. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
