1927 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. The ballclub by which all since have been measured, the 1927 New York Yankees were known as Murderer's Row because of their star-studded roster which decimated their opponents with overpowering hitting and pitching to the tune of 110-44 in the regular season and 4-0 in the World Series. These Bronx Bombers boasted seven Hall of Famers. Ruth hit sixty home runs, Pennock won twenty-two games, and Gehrig took home the league MVP.

The OAL (Johnson) sphere presented here was signed by fifteen Yankees during that mythical 1927 season and features Babe Ruth (across the sweet spot with "Babe" in quotes, 4/10), Lou Gehrig (on a side panel above the Johnson stamp, 3/10), Bob Meusel, Urban Shocker, Bob Shawkey, and Benny Bengough. While the others can be seen, they are not readily identifiable. The ball has turned to a grayish color over the years and exhibits some scuffs and spots of discoloration. The autographs grade an overall 3/10 in strength. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
