    Description

1927 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. Make that dream a reality and own a team ball from the finest squad ever to take to the diamond. Led by Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, who hit sixty home runs and won the MVP Award respectively this season, the '27 Yanks top most historians' lists of legendary clubs. Eighteen members of Murderers Row have checked in on this OAL (Johnson) ball, most notably Ruth, Gehrig, Huggins, Lazzeri (twice), Pennock, Combs, Meusel, Gazella, Moore, Ruether and the very tough Urban Shocker, who would die of pneumonia in September of 1928. While signature quality is admittedly imperfect, ranging from 2/10 to 5/10, almost all are fairly discernible by the naked eye, with Ruth and Gehrig the strongest of the bunch. With top examples easily topping $50,000 at auction in recent years, this more modest example offers a rare opportunity for mere mortals to get in on the fun. The greatest of the Yankees' twenty-six World Championship teams! LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
