1927 Lou Gehrig Single Signed Baseball, PSA EX-MT 6. Leave it to the Babe to steal Gehrig's thunder yet again, as Lou's brilliant 1927 MVP season should have made him the biggest name in the game if not for Ruth's record sixty homers. At least one fan saw fit to seek out the Iron Horse for a solo presentation upon an OAL (Barnard) ball, creating a collectible over one hundred times as scarce as a Ruth single. Gehrig's black fountain pen sweet spot signature is rated an impressive six on a scale of ten by the authenticators at PSA/DNA, a score they apply to the condition of the ball as well. They note that the date of "27" and some faded writing can be seen on the north panel using video spectral comparator (vsc-4) technology, though these additions are invisible to the naked eye. A very strong specimen from the greatest season of a career with no shortage of greatness, and from a 1927 team that has gone down in history as the best in baseball history. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA for protection and unquestioned authenticity.
