Description
1927 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball. While the tremendous visual quality of this autographed baseball is certain to appeal to all fans of the sport's most fearsome slugging duo, the true Yankee historian is bound to fall desperately in love for yet another reason. From the minor variation present in the stamping of this ONL (Heydler) ball, we are able to peg it definitively to the 1927 season. And why would Lou and the Babe be in the presence of a National League ball? The only logical conclusion is that the venue of the signing was Pittsburgh's Forbes Field on either October sixth or seventh, the dates of the first two games of the 1927 World Series. This relic from the absolute pinnacle of New York Yankees glory features a brilliantly bold black fountain pen sweet spot signature from the sixty home run hero, projecting at a boldness of 8.5/10, touched only by a minor degree of surface wear. Below him we find an 8/10 Lou Gehrig, the American League's Most Valuable Player. This remarkable quality is due in some degree to a coating of shellac, which has mellowed to a caramel tone, adding to the vintage patina of this delectable piece. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.More information about Lou Gehrig, also known as Lou Gehrig, .
