    Description

1926 "Babe" Ruth Single Signed Baseball from Day of Longest Homer. While Ruth singles could not properly be characterized as "rare," those examples dating to the pre-1928 quotation-marked "Babe" era are worthy of that adjective. Here we find one of the finest early Ruths we've handled, the young Bambino's side panel signature rating a solid 7.5/10. The intrigue of the "Draper & Maynard Official League Ball" is enhanced by the period notation on the sweet spot, which reads, "Presented by Rochester Journal American, June 4, 1926." It is well documented that the Yanks stopped in this upstate New York town en route to Cleveland and faced the Rochester Tribe in an exhibition. In this contest, Ruth clubbed a homer that was reported to clear the outfield wall, some trees and several houses, a blast which the Babe would later characterize as the longest he had ever hit. Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
