1924 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball with Gehrig. By the close of the 1924 Yankees season, the future Hall of Fame first baseman had appeared in just twenty-three games, and his home run total stood at one. Team balls from the 1924 team are tough by any metric, but those with the Iron Horse are just about impossible. Now, we'll admit that this OAL (Johnson) ball isn't going to win any beauty pageants, with heavy wear that occasionally allows the rubbery guts of the ball to be seen, but there's no dismissing the cast of characters: Ruth, Gehrig, Huggins, Combs, Pennock, Woods, Jones, Ward, Scott, Pipp, Bush, Beall, Meusel and more. There are twenty-six signers in total, a figure counted by Jimmy Spence with the use of a video spectrometer. But many are visible to the naked eye, and thankfully we count Ruth and Gehrig among them, each perhaps 1.5/10. Make sure to check our online listing for this ball, as we'll include the spectrometer's photo which provides a remarkably clear look at Ruth and Gehrig. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
