Description
1921 Rabbit Maranville Single Signed Baseball. Soon after having been named manager of the 1925 Cubs, he made his rounds through a Pullman car dumping water on sleeping players' heads and bellowing, "No sleeping under Maranville management, especially at night!" Despite his irreverent nature, the tiny infielder is remembered as one of the era's top talents, earning a Hall of Fame plaque for his efforts. Sadly, that day came months after his passing in January of 1954, limiting the availability of his important autograph to the collecting hobby. We believe this ball to be an ONL model based upon its red and black stitching, though the stamping has faded from view. The handwriting is light but legible, garnering a rating of 3/10 from PSA/DNA. It reads, "Best Wishes To My Little Pal From Rabbit Maranville, September 1, 1921." The ball is rated 2/10 for the combined final PSA/DNA rating of Good+ 2.5.
