1921 New York Yankees Partial Team Signed Baseball. The Yankees have claimed forty American League pennants in their history, and this team raised the first to the top of the Polo Grounds flagpole. The first spark in a century-long conflagration of dominance was lit by the man on the sweet spot, who appears in his early quotation-marked "Babe" Ruth format with 6/10 strength. He's joined by a dozen teammates, including fellow Hall of Famers Miller Huggins (3/10) and Waite Hoyt (5/10). Also present is Carl Mays, signing just a year after his errant pitch killed Ray Chapman, Bob Shawkey, Charles O'Leary and Mike McNally. The non-Hall of Famers average 5/10. OAL (Johnson).

The ball derives from the estate of Judge S.M. Bone, an early collector who received the ball from his good friend, Yankees second baseman Aaron Ward, after the conclusion of the 1921 World Series. A photocopy of a newspaper article in the Arkansas Gazette referencing this provenance is included. Just a handful of 1921 Yankees balls are known in the hobby, so we expect a lot of attention for this important rarity. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
