1921 New York Giants Team Signed Baseball. Though the Yankees outdrew these original inhabitants of the Polo Grounds by more than a quarter million fans this season, due to the baseball world's fascination with newly acquired superstar slugger Babe Ruth, the Giants would have the last laugh in October. Conquering their American League stadium mates in their first Fall Classic appearance was the talent-packed squad assembled upon this ONL (Heydler) sphere, one of just a handful known to the hobby. Twenty-five bold black fountain pen signatures have been preserved by an amber coating of shellac, and include such legends of the game as Youngs (very tough!), Stengel, Kelly, Frisch, Bancroft, Jennings and McGraw. That's seven Hall of Famers! All listed rate at a strength of 5/10 or better, with most closer to the 7/10 average that characterizes the ball as a whole.
