1921 Babe Ruth & Bob Meusel Signed Baseball. Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis flexed the muscle he showed the previous season with the Black Sox banishment as he suspended these Yankee stars for participation in an unsanctioned barnstorming tour. Presented is a sphere almost certainly deriving from this venture that kept Ruth and Meusel out of the Yankee Stadium outfield for the first six weeks of the 1922 season. The small and quotation-marked sweet spot Ruth is clearly the highly coveted early format, and rates a 6/10, the same as his colleague on the southern panel. Decades later the owner added Hall of Famer Stan Musial, seen in blue ink to the east of the Babe's sweet spot offering. ONL stamping is faded but visible, though the presidential stamping is no longer discernible. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
