1920 Babe Ruth & Walter Johnson Signed Baseball. A full sixteen years before they would share the spotlight of the Baseball Hall of Fame inauguration, the game's greatest slugger and most feared pitcher joined forces upon this OAL (Johnson) baseball. Ruth's early career signature appears on the sweet spot, considerably smaller in stature than his late and post-career specimens, but much more desirable due to the intense scarcity. The black fountain pen has faded to brown, and rates 5/10. Johnson's side panel signature has entirely shed its ink, and is visible only as indentations in the horsehide. Black light brings out the signature clearly, and Johnson's notation of "1920" allows us to date the ball, but the autograph is so indistinct that the ball was initially authenticated as a single signed Ruth. It could certainly continue to play that role in your collection if you wish, and since singles from this era are all but nonexistent, you'd face a long search for an early Babe to match it. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
