1918 Ed Barrow Signed Baseball. Before operating as general manager of the New York Yankees from 1921 to 1939 and team president from 1939 to 1945, Ed Barrow had an up and down career in baseball. He began as a concessionaire, then bought minor league teams, and finally served as president in the Atlantic League. He then went on to manage the Detroit Tigers in 1903-1904, left baseball for a few years, and returned as president of the Eastern League. His first great success, though, came as GM of the Boston Red Sox from 1918 to 1920, where he won a world championship. After that, Barrow's legend grows along with that of the Yankees franchise.

From Barrow's days as Red Sox manager, this ball hails from September 11th, 1918, the year of their championship. Likely a game used baseball, the OAL (Johnson) orb shows dirt and use and is marked "Red Sox 2, Chicago 1." Other writing is on the ball but is illegible, including at least one other signature. The sweet spot, however, is signed nicely in 6/10 fountain pen by Barrow in large letters. A very tough and early signed baseball to find.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
