1988 Tom Browning Signed Perfect Game Dugout Line-Up Card. After a two hour and twenty-seven minute rain delay at the start of the day, the star Cincinnati Reds southpaw went to work on the Los Angeles Dodgers, who quickly started to wish that the downpour would resume. But those prayers went unanswered, and the Dodgers failed to reach first base in twenty-seven attempts. An interesting bit of trivia: team owner Marge Schott put a clause in Browning's 1989 contract offering a $300,000 reward for another perfect game, and on the Fourth of July a lead-off single in the ninth saved her from having to pay up. Here we present the line-up card that hung in the Reds dugout for the 1988 perfecto, signed in 10/10 blue sharpie by Browning. It is joined by a letter on Reds letterhead from Ernie Britton, the visitor's clubhouse manager from 1985 to 1996, attesting to the fact that he saved the card and had Browning sign it after the game. LOA from Reds visiting clubhouse manager. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (autograph). Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph).
