1980's Mickey Mantle Signed Original Artwork. The Mick is pictured here in an intriguing piece of original art, signed by the artist Joy, and by Mantle in an attractive blue sharpie signature. The artwork is watercolor on a white acrylic surface, with five action vignettes of Mantle hitting, running and fielding, surrounding a portrait image at the top center. The acrylic board is cut like a home plate, 16 inches wide and deep, with a figural "7" placed at the point of home plate. The board is affixed to a 17-inch wide and deep wood board and the artwork is then covered by a clear acrylic piece of the same dimensions secured to the board at three corners. The artwork and mounting are in perfect condition, save only for a severe dent in the extreme upper left-hand corner that is barely visible except upon closer examination. The back of the wood board also includes a hook arrangement for wall hanging. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
