    Description

1978 Thurman Munson Signed Flight Log. Baseball was his profession, but flying was his passion, and his undoing. An emerging new dynasty, with three consecutive American League Championships and two consecutive World Championships, was stopped dead in its tracks when Munson's private aircraft fell short of the runway in Canton, Ohio and burst into flames with the Yankee captain trapped inside. The rarity of Munson's autograph was tragically ensured that August day, and those applied to any document relating to aviation carry particular collector intrigue. Here we present one of Munson's personal flight logs, a 4x8" page filled out scrupulously in his hand and signed in the same 9/10 blue ballpoint ink. A heartbreaking memento from the year prior to his death. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
