    Description

1976 Topps Walter Payton #148 PSA/DNA Authentic. With the rare combination of power and grace, Walter Payton possessed the rare ability to break a game open at any given moment. Payton's relevance to the sport of football is undeniable. Shortly before his death in 1999 he was ranked number eight on The Sporting News' list of the 100 greatest football players and was named as the highest-ranking Chicago Bear (just ahead of Dick Butkus at number nine). Offered is what is probably the holy grail of autographed Payton collectibles - his 1976 Topps #148 rookie card! The card is a solid EX-MT copy, the signature is in black marker. Signed rookie cards of Payton are scarce!
