    Description

1975-76 Indiana Hoosiers Team Signed NBC Sports Banner From The NCAA Championship Game. In NCAA Division I Basketball history there have only seven undefeated teams. Seven in seventy-nine years. The last of these fabled juggernauts were the 1975-76 Indiana Hoosiers under the iron fist of basketball genius Bobby Knight.

The Hoosiers culminated their perfect 32-0 season with an eighteen-point trouncing of Michigan; a game which saw their three All-Americans May, Benson and Buckner contribute twenty-six points, twenty-five points, and sixteen points, respectively. This team was so deep and talented that seven of their thirteen players were drafted by NBA franchises. As an aside, Larry Bird should have been on this team as well but he dropped out after just twenty-four days at the start of the 1974-75 season.

On offer here is the NBC Sports banner (59x33") which hung from the announcers table where Dick Enberg, Al McGuire and Billy Packer were calling the final game of the tournament from the Spectrum in Philadelphia on March 29, 1976.

After the Hoosiers won the National Championship, an Indiana cheerleader named John Cravens asked Enberg for the banner and was given it. Upon returning Bloomington, Cravens then asked imposed on the team manager to get the entire squad to autograph the banner and he obliged.

Fifteen large and beautifully placed NRMT black felt-tip autographs include the entire team with Bobby Knight (head coach), Kent Benson, Tom Abernathy, Scott May, Quinn Buckner, Bobby Wilkerson, Wayne Radford, Jim Wisman, Scott Eeels, Rich Valavicius, Jim Crews, Jim Roberson, Mark Haymore, Bob Bender and Rex Taylor (manager).

A truly one -of-a-kind display piece, with far-reaching historical significance, from a team and coach who are frequently ranked as the greatest in college basketball history. Letter of provenance from John Cravens. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
