1974 Baseball Used in Hank Aaron's 715th Home Run Game. Historic ONL (Feeney) ball shared the diamond with the newly minted Home Run King, seeing action on April 8, 1974 at Atlanta Stadium as Hammerin' Hank was coronated. The ball was saved by Braves executive Clyde King, whose blue ink notation on one side panel reads "This ball was used in the game that Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's HR record." The next panel is autographed by Aaron (9/10) and by Darrell Evans, who writes, "I was on 1st base when Hank hit his shot!" The next panel is signed by Al Downing (9+/10), who writes "Was starting pitcher in this game. Gave up Aaron's 715th home run in the 4th inning April 8, 1974." Finally Braves pitcher Ron Reed signs, adding "I was the starting and winning pitcher in this historic game." The ball exhibits light game use but presents marvelously. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only game used baseball from that historic contest ever to reach the public auction block. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (autographs). Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication (autographs).

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
