1972 National League All-Star Team Signed Baseball. Hammerin' Hank thrilled his hometown crowd at Atlanta's Fulton County Stadium this day, blasting a sixth inning home run which he would later describe as the most dramatic of his career to date. Still it almost wasn't enough, as the Nationals had to come up with a run in the bottom of the ninth to tie, and another in the bottom of the tenth to continue their historic dominance of the American League. Presented here are thirty signatures from that "never say die" squad, all appearing in NRMT ink on an ONL (Giles) ball. Perhaps most notable is the great Roberto Clemente, whose life would come to an end in just five months' time. Other Hall of Famers include Koufax, Seaver, Stargell, Gibson, Mays, Jenkins, Carlton, Morgan, Bench, Brock, Aaron, Sutton, future inductee Joe Torre and old timers Reese, Gomez and Schoendienst. Counting Torre, that's seventeen enshrinees! Certainly one of the greatest assemblies of talent ever seen on a single horsehide sphere. LOA from PSA/DNA.
