    Description

1966 National League All-Star Team Signed Baseball. When Maury Wills singled in the winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning the day this baseball was signed, even the American League players and fans breathed a sigh of relief. With the mercury holding steady at 105 degrees at game time in St. Louis' impressive new Busch Stadium, dozens of fans in the stands had already passed out from the intense heat by the time the twenty-three men who signed this ONL (Giles) ball were declared the victors. Hall of Fame talent abounds, with this historic sphere passing through the sweaty hands of Clemente, Koufax, Stargell, Alston, Perry, Aaron, Bunning, McCovey, Marichal, Torre and Santo. Ball is toned and slightly scuffed, but features signatures averaging 8+/10. A remarkable baseball, both in terms of the quality of talent and of the autographs they left behind. Includes original Spalding bag, in which it has been preserved for nearly fifty years. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
