    Description

1966 National League All-Star Team Signed Baseball. When Maury Wills singled in the winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning the day this baseball was signed, even the American League players and fans breathed a sigh of relief. With the mercury holding steady at 105 degrees at game time in St. Louis' impressive new Busch Stadium, dozens of fans in the stands had already passed out from the intense heat by the time the twenty-five men who signed this ONL (Giles) ball were declared the victors. Hall of Fame talent abounds, with this historic sphere passing through the sweaty hands of Clemente, Koufax, Stargell, Alston, Perry, Aaron, Bunning, Gibson, McCovey and Mays. Bob Gibson is the only Cooperstown resident to dip below the 9/10 standard of signature quality, though he remains an entirely legible 4/10. A remarkable baseball, both in terms of the quality of talent and of the autographs they left behind. LOA from PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
