    Description

1966 Guy Bush Handwritten Letter re: Giving Up Babe Ruth's Last Home Runs. Though the 1935 season would prove to be a sad end for the game's greatest star, the Babe gave fans one last burst of magic before hanging up his Louisville Slugger for good. On May 25, 1935, his penultimate game, Ruth clubbed three home runs, his 714th and final being particularly noteworthy as the first blast to clear the roof at Pittsburgh's Forbes Field. "I feel proud," writes Bush in this single page letter to a fan, "that Babe Ruth hit his last 2 home runs off of me--as he more or less made baseball what it is today. He was by far the greatest of all players." All ink, including closing signature, is 10/10. Page has small hole at upper right which remains clear of the writing, otherwise no noteworthy condition issues. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
