    Description

1964 Roberto Clemente Single Signed Baseball. Our May 2005 sale of a Clemente single (personalized, no less!) for better than thirteen thousand dollars should give clear indication that the tragic Pirate's star is one of the hobby's hottest commodities, so we're pleased to present yet another specimen for the cultured collector. This 8/10 blue ink side panel signature finds a home on an apparently game used ONL (Giles) ball, bearing a childlike notation on the top panel that reads "Sept. 19, 1964, Giants 13, Pirates 4." As Latin ballplayers continue to assert themselves as top stars of the modern game, all must tip their hats to Mr. Clemente, who paved the way with his remarkable skills and humanity. As such, artifacts from his life could only continue to increase in value. LOA from PSA/DNA.
