1963 Branch Rickey Handwritten Signed Letter to Stan Musial. A man who knew a thing or two about character, having rescued Major League Baseball from its ugliest fault, pens a letter of admiration to Stan the Man upon his retirement. In part, "I simply join about 180 million in profound respect and admiration--not at all because of your mathematical records (which alone are marvelous) but because of your great human qualities of humility and courage and ability--I am simply downright proud of you." On his personal letterhead, he closes, "Sincerely yours, Branch Rickey." All ink is 9+/10. Page exhibits original mailing folds but no other faults. Original mailing envelope included. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
Letter of provenance from the Musial family.
