1962 Chicago Cubs Team Signed Baseball with Ken Hubbs. Although blessed with a strong lineup, the 1962 Chicago Cubs finished a disappointing ninth place in the National League. Ernie Banks powered the offense (.269 - 37 HR - 104 RBI), along with Billy Williams, Ron Santo, Lou Brock, and even non-household names like George Altman. Pitching was a handicap, with none of the starting five having a winning record. It would also be the first full season for second baseman Ken Hubbs, who would be killed in a plane crash prior to the 1964 season.

This offered ONL (Giles) ball is an evenly toned cream color with twenty-six signatures, including a 9/10 example of Hubbs. Other stars include Brock (8/10), Banks (8/10), Santo (7/10) and Buck O'Neil (9/10). Other signatures average 8+/10. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
