    Description

1960's Gil Hodges Single Signed Baseball. Of all the great baseball stars of the 1950's, it may come as a surprise who was second in that decade in home runs and RBI. Mantle, Mays, Williams? Nope, in fact, he wasn't even the biggest star on his team. Overshadowed by Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider (who was first in both categories), Roy Campanella and others, Gil Hodges hit 310 homers in the 1950's, with over 1,000 RBI. After his playing career, he went on to manage, including the World Champion 1969 New York Mets. The offered baseball is a MacGregor model that shows toning and use, but offers a nice sweet spot signature of Hodges in 8/10 ink. Professional restoration is noted with signature removals on several panels. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
